Ron Hawkins, O.D. - Dr. Hawkins graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1969. Soon after graduation, he started a solo practice in Washington, Indiana. During his time in practice there he became very active in several community organizations including 8 years on the school board, President of the JayCees and Chamber of Commerce. In 1994 he opened Optiks in Bloomington and operated both practices until 1999 when he sold the Washington practice.Dr. Hawkins dedicated Optiks to provide the best technology, the most fashionable exclusive eyewear and the highest quality lenses along with the most informed and friendliest staff in a classic, comfortable setting. Meagan Byerly – ABO, Lab Manager – Meagan received her Associates degree in Optometric Technology at the Indiana University School of Optometry in May 2008. She is the optical lab manager and also assists with pre-testing and frame and lens education.Meagan has worked at Optiks since 2007 and she is certified by the American Board of Opticianry. Hannah Walls– While a senior at Bloomington North, Hannah did her internship at Optiks and learned about the operations of a successful optical practice. She is now working part time with us while attending Indiana University.
